REV UP! Florida is a state-level stakeholder campaign aiming to increase the political participation of the disability community while also engaging candidates and the media on disability issues. REV UP! stands for Register! Educate! Vote! Use your Power! The REV UP! campaign began as an initiative of the American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD) during the 2016 election cycle. Full political participation for Americans with disabilities is a top priority, and AAPD works with state and national coalitions on effective, non-partisan campaigns to eliminate barriers to voting, promote accessibility of voting technology and polling places, educate voters about issues and candidates, promote turnout of voters with disabilities across the country, engage candidates and the media on disability issues, and protect eligible voters’ rights to participate in elections.

As one of its first activities after formalizing as a state chapter, REV UP! Florida created three separate Candidate Questionnaires through consensus collaboration to be sent to all qualified candidates in the state for the offices of Governor, US Senate, and Attorney General. The questions cover a wide range of issues that are important to the disability community. All responses received back from the campaigns will be published and promoted through social media and other messaging efforts through Election Day on November 6th.

Below are the qualified candidates officially running for these three offices to whom we have sent a questionnaire (as reported on the Department of State website):
